About us

Hello! We are Alice and Kev, a grey haired couple from Devon, exploring the world on our saddles.

We never thought our fifties would find us wobbling down country lanes with panniers rattling behind us, but here we are - two wide-eyed beginners on a pair of well-loved mountain bikes. The wind smells of damp earth and wild flowers, and every turn in the road feels like a small discovery. We’ve started close to home, tracing the quiet backroads of southwest UK, but our maps are already dotted with dreams of ferry crossings and far-off trails. There’s a giddy mix of freedom and uncertainty in each pedal stroke, as if we’ve stumbled into a new chapter where the world is both bigger and closer than we ever imagined.

We’ll be navigating bikepacking as complete beginners, with a modest budget, learning on the trail as we ride. We’ll review equipment, eateries, routes and destinations as we tick them off our bucket list. Follow us as we build up our cycling legs and plan our dream trip through Europe and on to Cappadocia!

It's never too late, and for us life certainly began at fifty! We hope our escapades inspire you to follow your dreams too!
